Hubbard Hotel
Hubbard, at the south end of Long Lake, was a bustling village around 1900, with stores, a post office, and, according to the return address on this envelope, a hotel. The address says that the Hubbard Hotel was operated by W. Wilkins, but it doesn’t give a street address. The letter was post marked in 1899. Anyone with information about this hotel please pass it along so that it can be added to this post.

Ticket to 1899 Christmas Ball in Hubbard
This little ticket admitted one couple to the International Order of Odd Fellows Christmas Ball held at the Odd Fellows Hall in Hubbard on December 25th, 1899. The cost was $1.00, which, with inflation, would be about $28.00 in 2017. The hall remained standing for many decades, long after it ceased being used by the Odd Fellows. It was finally razed in the 1970s or 1980s.
